Return of the Carnival Party
Aloha Jam 2006 occured on April 22nd, 2006. Back on April 17th, 1999, after I had been gone from CMU for almost a year I threw what I said was going to be the "Last Carnival Party Ever!" I was just too far divorced from the whole CMU thing and I needed to be gone. And I stayed gone. Until this year. Steph and I had just bought a hottub and a few people had been begging me to throw a carnival party. So after 7 years I decided it was time once again. The hottub was of course a big hit, and everyone seemed to have fun. That said, one of these days I'm going to hold off on Aloha Jam til its warm enough to use the pool.

The Contest
It's not really a Maverick Jam if there's no costume contest. So of course there was one. Prizes were given out for the best 3 outfits, male and female. Winners were voted on by the attendees of the party. Third place won woman won a hula hoop. Third place man won a copy of the 2006 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. Second place of both genders won a copy of the DVD Into the Blue. First place winners got a beach towel. A Tiki mask, a beach ball and a beach hat(male) or mesh coverup (female). There was also a special bonus "Winner's Choice" prize voted on by just the six winners for one additional male and female. The Winner's Choice prize was a blow-up swimming pool.
